The first banjo song I wrote...and what I noticed immediately was that when writing the song and then every time I played it, I could see all the people in my mind's eye. I'd watch ranch owning parents ask their daughter whether she knows anything about the young ranch hand she is spending time with, and her saying all she knows is that to see his family, you need to go through a large set of iron gates. Then after a three day wagon ride with the ranch hand, they find out the name on the gates is 'Dust Road Cemetery'. (Song 1)
