This first of a series of songs which celebrate women, refers to the centuries old tradition for women to carry and display their wealth woven into their hair. This was both a practical solution to carrying valuable items without losing them, but also a way to display their social status. However, the underlying theme is that the most valuable thing any woman (or in fact any human) can offer, is friendship. (Song 2).
