Charlie Cornbell - Music Room

The fifth in a series of songs celebrating women is about ‘Charlie Cornbell’, a young women who loses her parents when she was young. Feeling lost, one day in the pouring rain she sees a tiny delicate flower stood proudly, and realises she has the strength and love within her to open a women’s refuge to help other women. The Colt she has is an older five shot, which dates the song. The inspiration for the song was the pencil drawing of the two young women in the cover shot, created by a school friend of some Pink Floyd band members, who told me he called the driver ‘Charlie’. (Song 20).
